The girls varsity track team was defeated for only the second time this season by Wapahani although the Broncos beat Anderson Prep and Liberty Christian. Helping the girl’s reach second place tonight was the girl’s 4 by 800 and 4 by 400 meter relay teams when they both won first place. The 4 by 800 relay team, consisting of Morgan and Mackenzie Riddle, Kennady Scott, and Heather Pautler earned a new personal best time of 10:41 which was 10 seconds faster from their previous best time. Morgan Riddle also won first in the 400 meter run, with Heather Pautler earning a new PR right behind her in second place.

In addition to these wins, the Broncos earned new personal bests in a lot of their events. Both of our hurdlers, Lexi Leisure and Ashlyn Craig, hit personal best times in the 100 meter hurdles. Both of our discus throwers, Emma Cline and Kelsie Walsh, threw further than ever have before. Aaren Lambert did hit a personal best in the 100 meter dash, while Alaisha Arthur did so in the 200 meter dash.

Possibly the most exciting PR of the evening was Mackenzie Riddle in the 800 meter run. Riddle dropped 5 seconds off of her previous best time to run a 2:33. This put her within range of Daleville’s current 800 meter record time of 2:30.8.

Great job to all of our Bronco athletes tonight as they competed in another meet where the weather conditions were not so ideal. Keep working hard, and we look forward to seeing your future successes! The Broncos next meet will be next Monday, April 30, at home against Monroe Central and Seton Catholic.
